1972 - 1984

In 1984 I had an exhibition of my oil/acrylic, mixed media paintings and my photographs taken on travels through Spain, in the Casa de Cultura in Javea. This included paintings I had done in the UK and during my early years in Spain. On the first night I sold my largest painting to a young couple from Canada – very exciting.

My ideas are completely composed in my mind. I then draw and refer to nature or figures from real life, illustrations, or photographs trying to stylise and interpret the subject into my own vision. Because I am self-taught I find I veer towards design as the painting progresses. Of course, as I live in Spain, the sunlight and sensations of this marvellous country, have a great influence on my work.
