The
Arts Association Theatre School
In 1974 another opportunity came
my way. I was told the Arts Association Theatre School in Wimbledon
needed an Art Teacher. Although not qualified I got the position.
The children at this school were all very out going and vivacious
and I began to take photos of them in art class. I sold my kiln
and other pottery equipment and bought an Olympus OM! Camera.
The children were delighted to pose for me.
So, with the help of my husband, the garage (previously full of
pottery things) was painted white. I bought backdrop paper and
studio lighting. Before long, parents were booking sessions for
their children and I did my own developing and printing. I also
attended all the exam shows and the theatre presentations –
photographing the dancers.
